George James Foden was born on 28 April 1838 in St.
Luke, Chelsea. In December 1861 he married Ann Hughes who was born about
1834 in Aberystwith, Cardigan, Wales. George's occupation is listed in the
census of 1881 and 1901 as an oil colourman. Ann's father was George Morgan and
the mother was Anne Williams.
George died in December 1907 at Brentford, Middlesex aged 70 years, and Ann died
in 1928 aged 94 years also at Brentford.
They had four children:
- George Morgan Foden was born in September 1864 at Kensington, London, and married in
September 1890. The census of 1901 lists his occupation as an oil colourman
working at Ealing.
- Annie Foden was born on 7 August 1866, did not
marry, and died after 1928 at Brentford.
- Henry Foden was born in June 1868 at Kensington in London, and was
married in June 1892 at Brentford, Middlesex. Henry was also listed in the 1901
census as an oil colourman working at Fulham. He dies in June 1945 at
Brentford.
- Jane Foden was born in December 1869 at Kensington in London.

Martha Foden was born on 19 February 1840 at
Arthur Street, Chelsea and died as an infant aged 11 months 3 weeks on 12
February 1841 at Kensington, and is buried in St. Luke's churchyard.
Samuel Foden
was born in September 1842 at Chelsea. In March 1863 he
married Jane Hannah Hyde who was born about 1846 at Wandsworth, Surrey.
The 1881 census lists Samuel's occupation as a housepainter of Battersea,
Surrey. Jane died in September 1884 aged 38 years, and Samuel died in March 1894 aged
51 years at Wandsworth, Surrey.
They had 12 children:
- Samuel John Charles Foden was born in March 1864 at Chelsea, married
to Bertha Pierce in June 1883 at Wandsworth. He was employed as a domestic
coachman, and died in September 1921 at Fulham aged 57 years. They had eight
children with one dying as an infant. One son Charles Stanley Foden was
born in 1876 at Uckfield in Sussex, and in 1926 married Alice Florence
Quagliotti born in 1904 to Battista and Alice Quagliotti from
Italy. Charles and Alice had a son Peter Charles Foden born in 1928, and
died in Shropshire in 1994.
- Elizabeth Foden born June 1865 at Chelsea, and in 1885 at Fulham was
married to Henry Wright, a clerk from Whitechapel, and together had three
children.
- Ellen Foden born March 1867 at Chelsea, and is listed in the 1881
census aged 14 years and living at 8 Stonells Place, Battersea.
- Ella Foden born March 1869 at Chelsea and died as an infant in
September of the
same year.
- Charles Hyde Foden was born in September 1870 at Chelsea, married at
Wandsworth in September 1894 to Eliza Mary Cracknell and had a son Arthur Foden
born about 1896. Charles is recorded in the 1901 Census as aged 30 years
employed as a club steward at Acton, and later died in December 1922 at Croydon.
- Mary Jane Foden was born in June 1872 at Wandsworth and died as an
infant in December of the same year.
- Florence Amelia Foden was born in December 1873 at Wandsworth, and
the 1901 Census lists her as aged 17 years and working as a dressmaker living at
102 Chatham Road, Battersea..
- Alice Foden was born in March 1875 at Wandsworth, and was married in
1897 at Camberwell, UK.
- William Henry Foden was born in December 1877 at Wandsworth, married,
and had two sons and a daughter.
- Henry George Foden was born in 1880 at Battersea, and in
December 1905 married Lucy Emma Fisher, daughter of Stephen and
Sarah Fisher. Henry died in 1944 aged 64 years, and Lucy died about 1967.
Henry and Lucy had 10 children.

Lilian Beatrice Foden was born in 1906 and died as an infant in 1907.

Henry Leslie Foden was born in 1907 and died in 1985. After marrying he
had two children.

Charles William Foden was born in 1909 and died in 1983.

Gladys Lucy Foden was born in 1910 and died in 2002. Under her married
name of Gladys Woods she had two children.

Doris Ellen Foden was born in 1915 and died in 1916.

Frank Alfred Foden was born in 1916 and died in 1917.

Raymond John Foden was born in 1920 and died in 1921.

Marion Joan Foden was born in 1921, and married as Marion de Rose
had two sons.

Jean Ivy Foden was born in 1922, and married as Jean Saunders had
two children.

- Lillian Mary Foden was born in 1882 at
Battersea, and was married to Frederick Alexander in 1904 at Lambeth.
They had three children.
- Beatrice Jane Foden
was born in March 1884 at
Battersea, and in 1905 was married to Archibald Alecock. They had four
children.

Continuing from the original lineage from James Foden and Elizabeth Burrows in Chelsea, of the nine children
born to them the four youngest children were all girls.
- Elizabeth Foden was born on 21 November 1845 at Arthur Street, Chelsea and died in December 1931
aged 85 years. The 1901 census lists her occupation as a dressmaker.
Hannah/Anna Foden was born in December 1848, and
died in September 1850 at Chelsea as an infant. [ Her birth was registered as
Hannah, however at the time of her death it was recorded as Anna.]
Emma Foden was born in June 1851 and died in
September 1852 at Chelsea as an infant.
Ann Foden was born in March 1854 at Chelsea, and
died after 1861.
